After the blockbuster Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 concludes on Sunday, the Men in Blue will resume international cricket from June 9. The Indian team for the forthcoming T20 series against South Africa was released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), and netizens were not pleased with the decisions made by the Chetan Sharma-led selection committee.

Several players who performed well in the IPL, including Rahul Tripathi and Sanju Samson, were denied the opportunity to exhibit their talents in the Indian shirt, and supporters believed that they deserved a chance.

Out-of-form players like Venkatesh Iyer and Ishan Kishan were chosen ahead of Tripathi and Samson, causing outrage on social media because both right-handers performed admirably in the present IPL.

Sanju Samson in fact has led Rajasthan Royals well in IPL 2022 as his side finished 2nd on the points table. This is just the 2nd time in IPL’s history that RR have finished in the top 2 after the league stage.

I Kept Learning As A Captain: Sanju Samson

Sanju Samson, who is in his second full season as captain of the franchise, said he has never stopped learning and that communication has been a major component of his leadership.

“I think I’ve actually developed and kept on learning as a batter and also as a captain. I’m really enjoying the responsibility of leading this team, especially with so many experienced players in our side.

“I think when you lead a side, it’s very important to have that kind of perspective where you allow people to come and talk to you in pressure situations and allow them to express their ideas,” said Samson.

“I do receive a lot of information, a lot of suggestions… So, I’m really enjoying the unity and the willingness of everyone to contribute to the team, and I think it’s very important to listen to everyone.

“But I also know that the final call has to be from my side, and I have to take the ownership of each and every decision made by the team,” he added.

RR would look to win Qualifier 1 on Tuesday and enter IPL 2022 Final.
