Mitchell Marsh, an Australian all-rounder, has spoken out about his moment with the Delhi Capitals during the recently completed Tournament, calling it ‘cursed.’ The seam-bowling all-rounder, on the other hand, acknowledged that he enjoyed his time in the tourney after recouping from an injury and COVID-19.

Marsh missed the actual white-ball series due to a hip flexor injury sustained during a tour of Pakistan prior to the IPL 2022. The all-rounder came back positive for COVID-19 after the match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

“I considered I was cursed in India during my first few weeks there. I ended up getting through my initial injury, which was minor, but playing one game and getting COVID was a little of a rough start. However, once I started moving, it was good to put up a few constant numbers. I had a fantastic time there.”

Mitchell Marsh discusses his time working with Ricky Ponting:

Mitchell Marsh expressed his time with Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting and credited the Australian with having faith in him. Mitchell Marsh continued:

“Everybody talks regarding him or what he’s accomplished in the sport, and yet I got an actual understanding of just how much he appears to care about his players – I suppose it’s what he is like for a skipper and team leader.”

“Only the way he helps you happy – he did make me feel like I was a vital member of the Delhi team. When a leader instills that kind of trust in you, you feel empowered.”

Mitchell Marsh will next appear in a three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka, which begins on June 7 in Colombo.
