Mumbai Indians (MI) prolific batter Suryakumar Yadav was ruled out of the remainder of the IPL 2022 season following a left forearm muscle injury. Although MI’s playoff hopes in the league are over, his injury came as a worry to the fans.
However, the 31-year-old has assured the fans that he will be back in action soon enough and will be supporting his franchise, hoping that they finish the season on a high.
“With all your good wishes and support, I will be back in no time. To my MI family, I will be cheering for you from the other side, this time. Let’s finish the tournament on a high note and display our true character on the field,” Suryakumar wrote on his Twitter page.

The news is quite worrisome as Suryakumar had already missed the first two matches of the season due to a hairline fracture he had picked up during India’s T20I series against West Indies back in February 2022.
The right-handed batter had undergone rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for well over three weeks before joining the MI squad.
His performance in the IPL 2022 season made it seem as though he was never out of action. In an otherwise horrendous season for the 5-time champions, Suryakumar was the lone shining light as he scored 303 runs in 8 games at an average of 43.29.
With the T20 World Cup in Australia coming up this year, Indian fans will be hoping he recovers from the injury and gets back into the thick of things in double-quick time.
