Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan named his best playing XI of the IPL 2022 season and as many as four players from the champions, Gujarat Titans, made the cut.

Gujarat sealed their maiden IPL trophy in the first attempt with Hardik Pandya leading the way with a stellar all-round performance which also helped him bag the Player of the Match award, only the 3rd captain to do so in a final.

Following the victory, Irfan revealed the players who made it into his playing XI. Expectedly, Jos Buttler and KL Rahul were the openers with the duo topping the charts for the most runs.

Coming in at No. 3 is RR’s wicket-keeper batter, Sanju Samson, who had a consistent outing, much to the relief of his fans. Expectedly, title-winning skipper Hardik was the leader of the playing XI.

He also top-scored for Gujarat with 487 runs in 15 matches and took 7 wickets with the ball. The deadly duo of Liam Livingstone and David Miller were slotted in at No. 5 and 6.

Although Punjab Kings couldn’t qualify for the playoffs, Livingstone had an excellent season. GT’s Rashid Khan and Mohammad Shami were the final two from their squad while Harshal Patel is the only player from RCB to make the cut.

Speed gun Umran Malik found a place alongside the Purple Cap winner, Yuzvendra Chahal. Finally, Kuldeep Yadav was the 12th man considering he was one of the best players for the Delhi Capitals this season.
