While it is encouraging to see some more fast bowlers emerging forward through the ranks who can deliver at high speeds, Kapil Dev believes that accuracy and discipline are two equally vital qualities for a fast bowler. The IPL is buzzing because of Umran Malik’s lightning-quick pace.
Umran, the Jammu and Kashmir pacer who is playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2022, has wowed everyone from colleagues to opponents to former cricketers and India legends.
In the IPL, Kapil Dev discussed the rise of new players. This year, as every year, a new crop of young stars emerged, including Ayush Badoni, Tilak Verma, Vaibhav Arora, and, of course, Umran. The Indian Premier League has come a long way since its beginnings, and with the way it has evolved over the years, it’s no surprise that more up-and-coming kids are creating a name for themselves each season.
“The infrastructure is extremely important to the Indian cricket board. The young cricketers have benefited greatly from this. Players have been provided with facilities by the board “Kapil Said.
Bowling consistently with good pace is important: Kapil Dev
Kapil Dev, India’s finest cricketer, and the fast bowler have spoken out about Umran and his meteoric rise in the IPL 2022. While it is encouraging to see more fast bowlers emerging through the ranks who can bowl at high speeds, Kapil Dev believes that accuracy and discipline are two equally vital attributes for a fast bowler.
“It isn’t necessary to keep up with the pace. It’s more crucial to bowl consistently at a good pace. It’s fine to do it in one game, but it’s more crucial to do it consistently throughout 15-20 games. This is a fantastic accomplishment. Previously, India lacked pace bowlers, but now, with the IPL, we can compete with the best in the world.” Kapil Added.
In the league’s history, Umran Malik is only the fourth bowler to bowl a maiden 20th over. He joined a select group of bowlers who have delivered a maiden in the 20th over of an IPL game, including Lasith Malinga, Irfan Pathan, and Jaydev Unadkat.
