IPL 2022: Massive Blow For Chennai Super Kings (CSK) As Deepak Chahar Could Be Ruled Out Of The Tournament After Suffering Injury – Reports

Star Indian bowling all-rounder Deepak Chahar could be ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 after suffering a hamstring injury.

Notably, Chahar sustained a hamstring pull during the 3rd T20 International match of the three-match T20I series against the West Indies, on Sunday, February 20.

The bowling all-rounder performed brilliantly in the third T20I against West Indies at the Eden Gardens as he dismissed Kyle Mayers and Shai Hope in the 11 deliveries he bowled in the match. He was unable to complete his 2nd over after suffering a hamstring injury and he was forced to leave the ground.

After suffering a hamstring injury he has been ruled out of the upcoming three-match T20 International series against the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team, which will begin on February 24.

Deepak Chahar Could Miss IPL 2022

According to a report in TOI, a source has told that Deepak Chahar’s injury “looks bad” and he could miss the marquee Indian T20 league due to the injury.

 “His injury looks bad. For all you know, he could be out of the IPL too (he was bought by the Chennai Super Kings for Rs 14 crore in the IPL auction),” a source was quoted as saying by TOI.

Indian speedster Deepak Chahar was bought back by Chennai Super Kings at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction for INR 14 crore. Chennai Super Kings were engaged in an intense bidding war with Rajasthan Royals (RR), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Capitals (DC) to acquire the services of the pacer.

Also, Chahar was the second most expensive player at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction and overall he is the most expensive India pacer bought by a team in the IPL auction.
