Five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) have roped in veteran pacer Dhawal Kulkarni for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 amid the team’s struggles with the pacers.

The 33-year-old pacer Kulkarni has so far played 92 Indian Premier League (IPL) games and has bagged 86 wickets at an economy of 8.30 and an average of 28.8.

Meanwhile, the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians (MI) were frustrated after the poor performance of the pacers in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, which led to them acquiring the service of experienced pacer Dhawal Kulkarni. The speedster would be considered for the upcoming IPL games only if he does well in the training sessions.

Kulkarni, who was part of the commentary team of the official broadcaster, has already joined the MI bio-bubble and will soon start his training sessions, according to the reports.

The performance of Mumbai Indians has been awful in the Indian Premier League 2022 as they have lost 8 matches in a row and one of the main reasons behind this horrific run is the poor performance of the pace battery, which consists of Jasprit Bumrah, Tymal Mills, Basil Thampi, Jaydev Unadkat and Riley Meredith.

Premier pacer Bumrah has given away 229 runs in 8 matches and has bagged just 5 wickets. Left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat has bagged six wickets and has conceded 190 runs from five matches and Daniel Sams has also picked six wickets and has conceded 209 runs from five matches.

England pacer Tymal Mills has also bagged six wickets and has conceded 190 runs from five matches and Basil Thampi has picked up five wickets and has conceded 152 runs from five matches.

Express pacer Riley Meredith has played two games and has conceded 65 runs and picked up just three wickets.
