IPL franchise Mumbai Indians don’t need any introduction. They are the most successful franchise in the history of the tournament. There are the only team that have managed to win as many as 5 titles and all of them have come under the leadership of Rohit Sharma. Though, they endured a season to forget last year. In 14 matches, Mumbai Indians managed to win 7 games and thus couldn’t reach the playoffs.
Mumbai Indians retained the likes of Rohit Sharma ©, Jasprit Bumrah, Kieron Pollard, and Suryakumar Yadav. At the auctions, they shelled INR 15.25 crores to get Ishan Kishan back into the team. They took everyone by surprise when they went all out to buy the services of Jofra Archer.
They managed to acquire the services of Archer but not a lot of people had expected that as he isn’t available for the upcoming edition of the tournament. He will be joining the squad from the next edition onwards.
Some of the other notable acquisitions include Tim David, Tymal Mills, and Daniel Sams among others. Ahead of the start of IPL 2022, here’s a look at our predicted playing XI of the Mumbai Indians.
IPL 2022: Mumbai Indians’ Predicted Playing XI For The First Match Of The Tournament
Openers: Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan

Quinton de Kock is no longer part of the Mumbai Indians team. He wasn’t retained by the franchise prior to the auctions but MI managed to get Ishan Kishan back into the team. The opening pair for the upcoming edition of the tournament for Mumbai Indians, therefore, is likely to be Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan.
The skipper will have Ishan Kishan for the company at the top of the order. Both are destructive hitters of the cricket ball and would be keen to start the tournament 0n a high.
Middle-Order: Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Verma, Kieron Pollard and Tim David

Suryakumar Yadav will be one of the most important batsmen in this batting line-up. He will hold this batting unit together. Suryakumar Yadav is in the brilliant form right now and the team would be wanting him to have a great season with the bat.
In the absence of the Pandya brothers, Kieron Pollard will have a lot of responsibility on his shoulders. It will be interesting to see if he could dish out consistent performances with the bat.
To bolster the middle-order, they have also included Tim David into the team. Expect him to be part of the starting XI of the Mumbai Indians right from the start of their campaign. Youngster Tilak Verma too is likely to make it into the playing XI of their first match of the tournament.
All-rounder: Daniel Sams

For the upcoming edition, Mumbai Indians don’t have the services of Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, James Neesham. Clearly, they are short on all-rounders in the side. They have placed their bet on Daniel Sams. How well he performs for the team remains to be seen.
Bowlers: Jaydev Unadkat, Tymal Mills, Jasprit Bumrah, and Murugan Ashwin

Jasprit Bumrah will be leading the fast bowling department but he will not have the company of Trent Boult this year. MI have managed to acquire the services of Jofra Archer but he isn’t available for this edition. They have also bought Tymal Mills, who bring variety to the pace attack. Jaydev Unadkat is the experienced Indian left-arm seamer Mumbai have this year. And, in the spin-department, Murugan Ashwin looks to be their biggest bet.
