IPL 2022: Mumbai Indians batter Suryakumar Yadav is of the opinion that Mumbai Indians is a champion side and will remain a champion side.

This statement comes in light of MI losing all of their first five games in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League.

Really Impressed With The Youngsters In The Team: Suryakumar Yadav

Yadav who missed the first two matches of the league has since his comeback been in prolific form for the side having scored a couple of fifties and a 40 odd in the three games he has played so far. He has scored 163 runs in three innings at a staggering average of 81.50.

Despite his good performances so far, MI has still not been able to get a win over the line.

In fact, the likes of Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma and Dewald Brevis have given good performances but despite that MI have faltered at crucial stages of the game and been winless so far.

On being asked about MI’s performance in the tournament ahead of Mumbai Indians match against Lucknow Super Giants, Yadav said: “It is still a champion team and will always be a champion side. It is just a matter of few games. The few people that have just joined in are doing really well. I feel happy for them, Dewald, Tilak. The way they have taken responsibility since the first game, they have been really good. I am sure they’re going to make it really big.”

Suryakumar Yadav in the three games has batted at different positions but he is not bothered by it and is open to play as a finisher for the side, “I am really flexible in batting at any position. I have been batting at No.3, 4 and 5 as well. It is all about situations. I prefer batting at any position and as long as I am winning the game for the team and scoring runs for them, more than happy.”

Mumbai Indians will face LSG on Saturday and they would hope that their star player continues his good form because if MI loses one more game, they would certainly be out of the reckoning for a playoff spot.
