IPL 2022: My First Wicket Is One Of My Favorite Batters - Maheesh Theekshana After Snaring Faf du Plessis' Wicket On Tuesday

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bowler Maheesh Theekshana was ecstatic that his first IPL wicket ended up being that of one of his favorite batters, Faf du Plessis.
CSK and RCB went toe-to-toe on Tuesday in a must-win game for the former. They were winless after the first four games, their worst-ever start to an IPL season.
After Shivam Dube and Robin Uthappa combined to put up 165 runs for the third wicket and set a target of 217 for RCB, it was down to the bowlers to complete the job.
Theekshana delivered tremendously, ending with figures of 4/33 in four overs. He started RCB’s downfall by dismissing du Plessis, which also happens to be his first wicket in the league.

“My first IPL wicket is of one of my favourite batters. I was told by the coaches and the players that I was going to get wickets today. And I am really happy.”
“We got a huge score on the board. We just went for dot balls and we knew that they were going to attack. We backed ourselves and that’s why we got the results,” Theekshana said.

CSK managed to restrict RCB to 193 in the end, winning the tie by 23 runs. The victory picked them up off the bottom of the table and into 9th place.
