IPL 2022: Rest Of The Teams Will Be Scared Of RCB Now – Irfan Pathan

Former India National Cricket Team all-rounder Irfan Pathan has said that the top-3 teams in IPL 2022 points table – Gujarat Titans (GT), Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) – will be scared of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

The four teams that made it to the playoffs of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 are Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Notably, RCB became the last team to qualify for the playoffs after Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) in their last league stage game. Now, RCB will lock horns with Lucknow Super Giants at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on May 25 in the Eliminator of the IPL 2022.

Meanwhile, Irfan Pathan has said that the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s recent performance in the group stage of the tournament makes them a dangerous team. He added that Virat Kohli gaining back his form is the biggest positive for the Faf du Plessis and Co.

“RCB are playing Eliminator for the third consecutive time in IPL. But the rest of the teams will be scared of them now. They are coming on the back of an emphatic win in their previous game and Virat Kohli seems to have regained his form which is the biggest positive,” Pathan said on Cricket Live show on Star Sports, the official broadcaster of IPL 2022.

Former India all-rounder further added that the Royal Challengers Bangalore can not be taken for granted and the teams above them in the standings would be wary of the Faf du Plessis and Co. in the playoffs of the cash-rich league.

“Virat (Kohli) seems to have found his mojo back. His match-winning half-century (in their final league game) will bode well for the team while the rest of the batters are also chipping in with valuable contributions,” he added.

“No side can take a team like RCB for granted now. All three teams above them will be wary of RCB,” Pathan added

Meanwhile, former England off-spinner Graeme Swann opined that the Royal Challengers Bangalore might surprise everyone with their performance in the playoffs.

“I’ve got this feeling that Royal Challengers Bangalore after somehow sneaking in by the back door might surprise everybody,” Swann said on the same show.
