KL Rahul

Although KL Rahul has been approached by the newly formed Lucknow franchise to join them, Punjab Kings won’t leave the wicketkeeper-batsman so easily. PBKS have also verbally complained to BCCI about player poaching tactics by Lucknow for KL Rahul.

Reportedly, the Lucknow franchise has offered Rs. 16 crore to KL Rahul to leave PBKS and join them. However, Punjab Kings might manage to persuade KL Rahul to sign a contract with them for the next season as well. KL Rahul was the third-highest run-scorer in IPL 2021 and won the orange cap in the 2020 season.

Shahrukh Khan

Shahrukh Khan is another player that the team can retain in IPL 2022. The franchise bought Khan for Rs. 5.25 crore in IPL 2021 auction, which was his debut edition. The all-rounder played a few brilliant knocks in IPL 2021, scoring 153 runs in 11 innings at an average of 21.85.

Recently, he slammed a six off the final ball during Tamil Nadu vs Karnataka final in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021, bagging the title for his home team Tamil Nadu. The right-handed batsman is a powerful hitter, a quality that franchisees need in their batsmen in IPL.

Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami can be the third player that PBKS might retain in IPL 2022. Shami is the most crucial pacer in the squad, considering the fact that he is a regular player on the national side.

In IPL 2021, he gave an outstanding bowling show for the team, picking 19 wickets in 14 games at an average of 20.78 and an economy rate of 7.50. The right-arm pacer also finished as the 5th highest wicket-taker in the tournament.

Arshdeep Singh

Arshdeep Singh might be another player that Punjab Kings can retain in IPL 2022. Only a few players from the team gave an incredible performance in the 2021 season, and Arshdeep Singh was one of them.

With 18 wickets in 12 games, he was the second-highest wicket-taker for the team in the tournament. He bowled at an economy of 19.0 and strike rate of 8.27, also picking a five-wicket haul in one game. Being 22 years old, the young bowler can be a good future investment for PBKS.
