IPL 2022 Retention: Purse Value Of Each Team And Spending They Can Go Ahead With

The IPL 2022 retention is one of the hot topics going around as every team has been eyeing their picks for retention ahead of the mega auction coming up in a few days’ time. The purse value and the retention rules for each team have been revealed by the BCCI and the deadline has started to near for the eight franchises.

As far as the two new teams are concerned, the BCCI is still investigating the CVC Capitals as they have been involved with the betting. However, Lucknow and Ahmedabad will be the two new teams joining the next season’s 10 team tournament, and here is the purse value of each team and spending they can go ahead with.

Purse Value Of Each Team After IPL 2022 Retention:

Every 10 teams of the IPL 2022 will now have an increased purse value of 90 crores and the retention policy has been changed from the previous auction. There won’t be any RTM cards allowed for the 8 franchises while each of the eight teams will have the option of retaining a maximum of four players. The 8 teams will be allowed to retain a maximum of three Indians and two overseas out of the 4 players.

The deadline date for the eight teams in listing their retentions is November 30 and once, the retentions are named, the two new teams will have the option of retaining three players from the remaining lot that go into the auction pool. The 3 players will be a combination of a maximum of two Indians or two overseas. The deadline for the 2 new teams hasn’t been declared yet and is expected to be within the end of December.

With the salary cap of 90 crores, the teams that will be retaining four players will have 42 crores deducted from their purse and each team will have to name their players in the order of the salary purse.
