IPL 2022: “Return Of The King” – Twitter Reacts As Ravindra Jadeja Gives Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Captaincy Back To MS Dhoni

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) spin-bowling all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who was appointed as captain of the franchise ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, has decided to give the CSK captaincy back to the legendary skipper MS Dhoni.

On March 24, just a few days before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 began, legendary Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni decided to hand over the CSK captaincy to Jadeja.

In a statement released by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), it was announced that Dhoni has decided that he will not continue as captain and has picked Jadeja to lead the team in the cash-rich league.

However, Jadeja, who became only the third captain of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) after legendary MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina, had a very poor captaincy stint as under his leadership defending champions Chennai Super Kings struggled in the 15th edition of the tournament.

Under the leadership of Jadeja, Chennai Super Kings won only 2 games in the Indian Premier League 2022 and faced 6 defeats, which led to them being placed in the bottom half of the standings.

Also, Jadeja’s form with bat and ball took a massive blow as in the 15th edition of the cash-rich league he scored 112 runs and bagged 5 wickets.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, April 30, Chennai Super Kings released an official statement confirming Jadeja relinquishing the CSK captaincy. The statement added that Jadeja has decided to hand over the captaincy to Dhoni to focus and concentrate more on his game and Dhoni accepted the request to once again take the charge.

“Jadeja to handover CSK captaincy back to MS Dhoni: Ravindra Jadeja has decided to relinquish captaincy to focus and concentrate more on his game & has requested MS Dhoni to lead CSK. MS Dhoni has accepted to lead CSK in the larger interest & to allow Jadeja to focus on his game,” Chennai Super Kings said in an official statement.
