IPL 2022: S Sreesanth In Auction Pool Of 590 Players To Go Under The Hammer

Former Indian cricketer S Sreesanth has entered the auction pool and he will be one of the 590 players to go under the hammer when the auction takes place on February 12 & 13 in Bengaluru.

The BCCI released the list of cricketers who will be available for purchase in the mega auction. The maximum base price is at INR 2 cr and Sreesanth has put himself under the INR 50 lakh category. Taking to Twitter, the 38-year-old said:

He was part of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) franchise but was banned for life due to his involvement in a spot-fixing scandal. Sreesanth appealed the decision and his ban was finally lifted in 2020. He has been playing domestic and local cricket ever since.

The auction will take place in Bengaluru and will see the likes of David Warner, Kagiso Rabada, Shreyas Iyer, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shikhar Dhawan, and many more be available to be scooped up.

Two new franchises, Ahmedabad and Lucknow, will also have a say. They have already announced their draft picks, with Ahmedabad opting for Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan, and Shubman Gill while Lucknow went for KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis, and Ravi Bishnoi.
