22-year-old SunRisers Hyderabad pacer Umran Malik has intrigued every last one with his capacity to dole out fastballs and he continually bowls in the scope of 145-150kmph. He has had such an effect that few Indian greats have proactively said that Umran will play for Team India. In the ongoing IPL 2022 season, Malik has gotten 9 wickets in 6 games.
Umran Malik’s ball to shake the stumps of Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer was discussed a great deal inside the cricket community. SRH pace bowling coach Dale Steyn also hopped in joy in the dugout to commend the wicket alongside Muttiah Muralitharan.
Working Alongside Him Gives A Lot Of Motivation: Umran Malik On Dale Steyn
When asked about how does he feel working alongside South African legend Dale Steyn, the SRH pacer said: “It is such a good feeling to be working alongside such a big legend (Dale Steyn). He has been a big player, and working alongside him has given me a lot of motivation and I am learning a lot,”.
Talking about his mindset while delivering that perfect yorker, the SRH pacer told: “I saw that Shreyas Iyer was trying to make room and hit a lofted shot. I had two players at the back. It is natural that if I bowled a yorker, either it would have been a dot ball or I would have conceded a single. He made a little extra room, I was about to bowl a normal delivery but I saw the room he had made, so I bowled a yorker. Then he was dismissed and the plan was successful.”
In the last game against Punjab Kings, Umran got four wickets and he got back with the figures of 4-28. In the last over of the PBKS innings, Umran Malik proceeded to take three wickets all alone and one was a run-out, so the over actually ended up being a four-wicket maiden.
SunRisers Hyderabad has eight points from six matches and will next face Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday.
