Sunil Narine of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) said something about an incident that occurred with Sachin Tendulkar before the 2013 Champions Trophy. The mysterious bowler surprised the iconic batter in many instances near the end of his career.
Tendulkar supposedly demanded Narine’s bowling footage from both angles after already being taken aback by the newbie in IPL 2012.
In an interview with the club’s website, the veteran praised the former Indian batter for his passion and commitment to the game.
“It provides you a pleasant vibe to know that one of the tremendous batters to ever play the game needs to concentrate on you, but it also demonstrates that he is deeply committed and wants to have been at the top of his game and not be caught off guard when the game comes.”
“I believe that any aspiring player or youngster must always keep striving to be the best and focus just on small details.”
Sunil Narine on the batsman who managed to play him the best:
Sunil Narine decided to name former Indian batter Virender Sehwag as the batter who bothered him the most. He stated:
“I’m afraid I’ll have to go with Virender Sehwag. It was always difficult for me because he was a guy who always kept the game going no matter what situation the team was in, batting the way he did.”
Narine and Sehwag have met three times in three matches, with the explosive batter scoring 56 runs off 35 deliveries. He has never been dismissed by the West Indians.
Sunil Narine will play his 150th match for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) when they face the Rajasthan Royals (RR) later today at the Brabourne Stadium.
