CSK purchased 21 players at the auctions last month, and head coach Stephen Fleming chose three players from the list who came “cheap” at the Bengaluru mega event.
During his presentation to the franchise during their training camp in Surat, Stephen Fleming admitted that despite failing to reclaim a few players, including Faf du Plessis and Shardul Thakur, he was pleased with the auction outcome.
“We’re overjoyed that everything happened as planned. We have lost a handful of players, which is disappointing, but we have added some tremendous potential. This year, we have a good combination of experience and youth. “As a result, we’re very pleased with how the auction went,” he said.
Stephen Fleming selects three players who came cheap at the auction:
Fleming chose three players who he believed were available at a lower cost to the franchise.
“Well, they were cheap, so that worked out.” They’re all excellent players. Devon Conway seems to have had a successful international career in recent years. Mitch has always been a rock for us. And we’ve got a little bit of a runner in Adam Milne. As a result, all three of them have excellent credentials and a strong skill set for us,” he explained.
Conway was bought back at INR 1.9 crore, Milne for INR 1.9 crore, and Santner for INR 1.9 crore.
The defending champions, Chennai Super Kings, will begin the IPL 2022 season against Kolkata Knight Riders in the season opener.
