IPL 2022: "This IPL's Most Likely Find So Far": Ayush Badoni Receives High Appreciation From Wasim Jaffer

Wasim Jaffer, a former Indian opener, has appreciated young Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) batter Ayush Badoni, dubbing him the IPL’s best find so far.
On Thursday, the 22-year-old cameoed in another critical game against the Delhi Capitals (DC).
Badoni came into the game with LSG chasing 150 and needed five runs off five balls. At the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, he smashed DC bowler Shardul Thakur for a four and a six to help his team to a six-wicket victory.
During a debate on ESPNcricinfo, Wasim Jaffer praised Badoni for his great cameo, saying:
“The way Ayush Badoni finished it off, facing only a few balls and hitting some superb shots… He appears to be a genuine talent, possibly the best find of the IPL thus far.”
His IPL career has started quite well for the kid. He started the season with a 54-run knock against the Gujarat Titans (GT) and has since made crucial contributions of 19*, 19*, and 10* off three balls against DC.
Wasim Jaffer was taken aback by the DY Patil pitch:
The first two IPL 2022 matches, which took place at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, were high-scoring contests. In the first match at the venue, Punjab chased down 206. The last two games, though, have been low-scoring affairs.
Wasim Jaffer was taken aback by the changing nature of the wickets at the site, saying:
“The surface (for Thursday’s match) appeared to be a little slick. There appeared to be a small amount of tennis ball bounce. No one could time the ball as well as De Kock and Shaw. It appeared like batting was a bit of a challenge.”
“You find one game where the team scores 200 runs and another game where the team only loses three wickets but still manages to score 150 runs. What’s going on with the wickets does surprise me.”
The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will face the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the next IPL 2022 encounter at the DY Patil Stadium on Saturday, April 9.
