Delhi Capitals decimated Punjab Kings in Match 32 of IPL 2022. They won the game by 9 wickets with more than 9 overs remaining.

Earlier in the day Rishabh Pant won the toss and chose to field first. Delhi made just one change to their team as Mitchell Marsh had to be left out due to him being down with Covid 19. Sarfaraj Khan replaced him in the playing XI.

Mayank Agarwal returned for Punjab Kings and Nathan Ellis replaced Odean Smith in the playing XI.

But these changes made little impact on the game as Delhi Capitals were in a different mood altogether.

They dismissed PBKS for 115 runs with 4 bowlers picking 2 wickets each for DC. Lalit Yadav picked up Shikhar Dhawan’s wicket in the 4th over to start a collapse for PBKS. Dhawan’s dismissal brought about an extraordinary collapse for PBKS. None of the batters managed to stay on the crease as DC bowlers kept chipping away with wickets.

The top scorer for PBKS was Jitesh Sharma who scored 32 runs off 23 balls but apart from him, all other batters struggled.

Delhi Capitals raced to their target in a very quick time, with Prithvi scoring 41 runs in 20 balls and Warner scoring his 3rd consecutive 50 of the season. He scored 60 runs off 30 balls.

Prithvi Shaw in the process completed 2,00o runs in T20s.

The win has propelled DC to 6th on the points table while PBKS are in the bottom half of the table. Gujarat Titans still lead the table.

Updated Orange Cap:


Jos Buttler continues to lead the run charts. While KL Rahul is 2nd on the list. Prithvi Shaw with his 41 entered top 10 of the list but there were no changes at the top 5.

Updated Purple Cap:


Kuldeep Yadav picked up two wickets and moved to 2nd on the purple cap list right behind Yuzvendra Chahal, who still leads the Purple cap chart with 17 wickets to his name in IPL 2022.
