It was Royal Challengers Bangalore’s last league game of IPL 2022. It was also their most important game of the season.
Despite winning 7 games out of 13, they were still fighting it out to get a place in the playoff. In the end, they won the game by 8 wickets with 8 balls remaining.
Earlier in the day, Gujarat Titans won the toss and decided to bat. They had a horrible start as Shubman Gill got out for a low score yet again.
Glenn Maxwell continued his good run with the ball as he dismissed fellow Australian, Matthew Wade. Wriddhiman Saha who was looking good was run out for 31 courtesy of a brilliant throw from Faf du Plessis.
Then Hardik Pandya and David Miller had a good little partnership in the middle but in the slog overs, Miller was caught and bowled by Wanindu Hasaranga.
Hardik Pandya completed his 4th fifty of the season, he was supported well by Rashid Khan in the end who scored 19 runs in 6 balls and pushed GT’s score to 168 runs.
RCB had a cheeky start to their chase as they got some lucky boundaries but then both Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli settled and had a 100+ partnership. Virat Kohli scored his 2nd fifty of the season against GT.
Faf got out for 44 but then Glenn Maxwell came and just blazed through his innings as he scored 40 runs off just 18 balls.
