IPL 2022: 'Virat Kohli Now Doubts His Own Ability': Ex-Pakistan Captain Slams Former Indian Captain's Batting Strategy

Virat Kohli has gotten through his most awful Indian Premier League (IPL) season far, scoring only 216 runs in 12 innings at a strike rate of 111.3. The run count contains one 50, which came after 16 IPL innings, and three golden duck excusals.
The calls for break have become stronger than at any other time after Kohli strolled back in the wake of being excused in the first over of the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad last week, yet previous Pakistan skipper Rashid Latif feels that Kohli ought not to be dropped and rather believes he should zero in on his batting strategy.
Virat Kohli Can Be Sent Down The Order To Bat: Rashid Latif
Talking on the YouTube show Caught Behind, Rashid believed that Kohli’s languid batting has been the aftereffect of his unfortunate form and he wants to track down that rhythm back and play in that stream. He further believed that with Kohli flopping as an opener too for Royal Challengers Bangalore, he can be sent down the batting order.
“I had earlier said this, he needs to either bat up the order or down the order. Since opening hasn’t work, may be he can come down the order now. He now doubts his own ability. He cannot way the way he is playing now.
“That won’t work anyway. He needs to bat in that flow. If he can find that rhythm once again, he can come out of it,” he said.
Kohli has batted lower than the No.4 spot just 25 times in IPL, the last being back in 2010. He scored 461 runs at the strike rate of 128.1.
RCB have two games remaining to play in IPL 2022 and they are currently fourth in the points table with seven successes in 12 matches. Kohli needs to return to his form to assist RCB with dominating those last two matches and make the playoffs in IPL 2022.
