KL Rahul‘s Lucknow Super Giants find themselves in a bit of a tricky position heading into their last match against Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday at the DY Patil stadium. The side has to win to finish in the top two of the points table and get to the playoffs. A loss, however, might not help them finish in the top two. Heading into this game, they are placed third on the points table.

Former Indian cricketers Parthiv Patel and Pragyan Ojha were critical of KL Rahul’s decisions in the last two games. His bat has not done the scoring in the last two games as well. Rahul has scored just 18 runs in the last three matches at a strike rate of 51. Parthiv said that with all the experimentation done, KL Rahul has to go back to the basics to win the game against KKR.

LSG experimented by sending Ayush Badoni in the last match against Rajasthan Royals in a 179-run chase. As it turned out, The right-hander was dismissed for a duck by Trent Boult.

“KL Rahul’s runs are very important for LSG. But he changed the surroundings himself. His number three headache was solved with Deepak Hooda consistently, but last match he promoted Ayush Badoni to that spot,” said Parthiv Patel.

” Not that he is not capable, but the issue was already resolved. He experimented in a crucial game, now he has to go back to the basics,” he further added.

who was another expert in that discussion said that LSG should refrain from any more experiments as they are yet to qualify for the playoffs.

“I think LSG should back this combination in the middle order because they are yet to attain the ‘Q’ sign next to their name on the table. I think they should not look to make any changes.”

Lucknow defeated KKR by 75 runs when the two sides met earlier in the season with their bowlers bouncing out the KKR batters with a barrage of short-pitched deliveries. The same might be seen in this game as well.
