Daniel Vettori, a former IPL captain, previews the crucial match between the Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders on Monday (May 2). He encouraged the Rajasthan Royals to keep all-rounder Daryl Mitchell in the lineup and get the most out of him.

Mitchell was a new addition to the mega auction, purchased for 75 lakhs by the Rajasthan Royals.

So far in the current edition, the seam-bowling all-rounder has only featured in a couple of games. He has made 17 (20) and 16 (24) runs and without taking any wickets in two overs.

Jimmy Neesham, who has played for both the Royals and the Knight Riders, is another option, according to Ben Cutting. He continued, ”

“They should give him one more match, in my opinion. He’s had only two so far, if that doesn’t work, Jimmy Neesham will be called upon. He’s more of a bowling all-rounder who can smash the ball over the fence at the other end of the field.”

Daryl Mitchell is yet to demonstrate his all-around talent, according to Vettori, but if given a massive rope, he may be a terrific match for Rajasthan. He stated, ”

“Because of the limited choices they have on the bench, I believe they should. Also, and maybe most crucially, Daryl Mitchell has yet to demonstrate that he is the player that he is.”

“I believe he can be the all-rounder Rajasthan is seeking if he is given the freedom to be competitive like he is for New Zealand and bowling in the ideal scenario for his abilities.”

Mumbai Indians defeated Rajasthan Royals by 5 wickets in their most recent match. In that encounter, Rajasthan Royals’ Jos Buttler managed to score 67 runs.

In the forty-seventh match of the Tata IPL season, Kolkata Knight Riders will face Rajasthan Royals for the second time on Monday.
