KKR vs SRH: "Right Time To Drop Kane Williamson"-Virender Sehwag's Suggestion After Sunrisers Hyderabad Lose To Kolkata Knight Riders

Kane Williamson has had a torrid time with the bat in IPL 2022. He has scored just 208 runs at a sluggish average of 18.91 with just one fifty-plus score. In their last match against KKR, Williamson scored 9 off 17 balls in a chase of 178. This loss makes things even more difficult for SRH and Williamson’s form is not helping the cause as well.
On the other hand, the 54-run wi has boosted KKR’s net run rate to +0.160 and they have moved to the sixth position in the points table.
Virender Sehwag was very critical of Kane Williamson’s batting approach in the season. After his recent outing, the former Indian opener suggested that Williamson should drop himself in the remaining matches for SRH. They are on 10 points and need to win both their remaining games to make a shoutout to the playoffs.
“How will the team fight when their leader isn’t doing well? Kane Williamson will have to score runs and that too at a better strike rate. His partner Abhishek Sharma is trying to make the most of the powerplay, but isn’t getting the support from the other end. Kane Williamson should take a break and give the captaincy to someone else. This is the right time to drop Williamson” Sehwag said to Cricbuzz.
He further said that Williamson had to score big in a must-win tie against KKR. SRH have now lost five on the trot after winning five games on the trot earlier in the season.
Kane Williamson Should Take A Break: Virender Sehwag
“We all expected Kane Williamson to fire with the bat today. But things did not change. He was again dismissed early and even the other batters did not stand up. SRH haven’t been playing that well lately. You need to play 40 overs of good cricket to win a match” Sehwag added saying.
Gujarat Titans are the only team so far to make it to the playoffs. Batting MI and CSK all the other teams are still alive in the race to playoffs in IPL 2022.
