Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain KL Rahul was roasted badly on the social media site Twitter after his motivational tweet offended the fans, given that his team had lost to fellow Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) debutants Gujarat Titans (GT) on Monday, March 28 in Wankhede Stadium.

Rahul’s men let slip an opportunity to begin their new campaign with a victory as they failed to defend a 158 run-target in a last-over thriller against fellow newbies Gujarat Titans on Monday. Batting first after losing the toss, KL Rahul got out on the first ball of the match to Mohammad Shami for a golden duck.

Shami then rattled LSG batting with 3/25 with the ball, even reducing the opponents to 29/4 inside the first six overs. However, thanks to Deepak Hooda’s 55 and debutant Ayush Badoni’s 54, LSG made an impressive recovery and made it to 158/6 in 20 overs.

The total was a decent one and LSG made a good effort to defend it as well. Dushmantha Chameera dismissed Shubman Gill for a duck and then removed Vijay Shankar for 4 runs. However, Matthew Wade, David Miller, and Hardik Pandya made scored in 30s to stabilize the innings in a tense chase.

But it was left to Rahul Tewatia and debutant Abhinav Manohar to take the GT across the finishing line. Tewatia showed amazing finishing skills, making 40*and then Manohar hit two boundaries in the last over bowled by Avesh Khan when 11 runs were required to win and sealed the win for the debutant side.
