Legendary India National Cricket Team and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain, MS Dhoni, has become only the 6th Indian cricketer in history to score over 7000 runs in T20 cricket. Notably, Dhoni has played T20 cricket for India, Chennai Super Kings, Jharkhand and Rising Pune Supergiants (RPSG).

Mahendra Singh Dhoni achieved this sensational milestone while playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 7th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 against KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai on Thursday, March 31. Dhoni smashed 16 runs off 6 balls in the first innings of the match.

Before MS Dhoni the Indians to achieve this milestone are Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina and Robin Uthappa.

Virat Kohli has scored 10326 T20 runs while playing for Delhi, India and Royal Challengers Bangalore, India captain Rohit Sharma has smashed 9936 T20 runs while playing for Deccan Chargers, India, India A, Mumbai and Mumbai Indians, while Shikhar Dhawan has scored 8818 T20 runs, while playing for Deccan Chargers, Delhi, Delhi Capitals, Delhi Daredevils, India, India A, Mumbai Indians, North Zone, Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, Suresh Raina has represented Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Lions, India, and Uttar Pradesh and scored 8654 T20 runs while Robin Uthappa has represented Chennai Super Kings, India, India A, Karnataka, Kerala, Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Pune Warriors, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Saurashtra, and scored 7120 T20 runs.

MS Dhoni Becomes 6th Indian Cricketer To Score Over 7000 Runs In T20 Format

MS Dhoni now has 7001* T20 runs under his belt. The legendary wicketkeeper-batsman has batted in 308 T20 innings and has smashed his runs at an average of 38.59 and strike rate of 134.35 with his highest score being 84*. Also, Dhoni has smashed 28 fifties in his T20 career.

Among the 7001* T20 runs the 4-time Indian Premier League (IPL) championship-winning captain has smashed 4796 runs in the Indian Premier League in 221 games at an average of 39.97 and strike rate of 135.79, including 24 half-centuries.
