David Warner will be playing for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022. The franchise roped him in for 6.25 crores in the mega auction. Warner has reached India and is available for Delhi’s next game against the Lucknow Super Giants on April 7. After beating Mumbai Indians in their first game, Delhi lost to Gujarat Titans in their second game. Meanwhile, Brad Hogg has a suggestion for the Delhi Capitals ahead of their next game.
Previewing the LSG vs DC game on his Youtube channel, Brad Hogg said that he would not include Warner for the game against Lucknow. He further suggested that with more right-handers in their playing XI, Delhi could negate the googlies bowled by Ravi Bishnoi.
Would Want More Right-Handers To Face Ravi Bishnoi: Brad Hogg
“I will not pick David Warner even if he is available and will stick with Tim Seifert in the team. I would want more right-handers to face Ravi Bishnoi as he is very dominant against left-handers with his wrong ones” Hogg said.
Hogg further went on to say that Avesh Khan will be Delhi’s biggest threat from the opposition camp and Ricky Ponting will be aware of his threat having seen him play for the franchise in a couple of IPL seasons.
“Like last year, Avesh Khan doesn’t have someone like Anrich Nortje around him to trouble the opposition with that extra pace. He’s the main bowler in LSG team, Ricky Ponting is going to know that and he’s going to tell his team to put Avesh under pressure” Hogg further added.
Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals can play both Tim Seifert and David Warner in their playing XI as they played with only three overseas players in their last game against Delhi Capitals. The availability of Anrich Nortje for Delhi is yet to be confirmed. DC are currently placed sixth in the points table. The points table is led by Rajasthan Royals at the moment who have won both their opening games defending their totals.
