Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper KL Rahul was dismissed against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) without facing a single delivery. The two teams are battling it out at the MCA Stadium in Pune in the 2nd game of Saturday’s double-header.
The two teams made one change each with Avesh Khan being brought into the side in the place of Krishnappa Gowtham for LSG while Umesh Yadav sustained a calf muscle injury which forced him to sit out and Harshit Rana was named as his replacement.
Batting first, Quinton de Kock and Rahul were expected to provide a good start. However, the latter was undone early on by his opening partner. After tapping the ball towards cover, de Kock called for a single before sending back Rahul.
Shreyas Iyer picked up the ball at cover and fired in a direct hit, catching Rahul well short of his crease. It is the third duck of KL Rahul’s IPL 2022 season. He is second in the race for the orange cap with 451 runs in 11 matches.
