In an official statement released by the Indian Premier League (IPL) on April 3, it was announced that the Madhya Pradesh cricketer Rajat Patidar would be joining Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for the price of INR 20 lakh as a replacement for the injured Luvnith Sisodia for the remainder of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.

Rajat Patidar had smashed brilliant 52 runs against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai and he also scored good 48 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Other than these knocks he had also made some small yet crucial contributions.

Meanwhile, Rajat Patidar batted brilliantly against all the Lucknow Super Giants bowlers in the Eliminator and he especially targeted the spinners. He smashed back-to-back boundaries to Krunal Pandya in the 6th over and in the 16th over he destroyed Ravi Bishnoi by smashing back-to-back fours and sixes.

Rajat Patidar reached his century milestone off 49 balls in style by smashing a brilliant six to left-arm pacer Mohsin Khan in the 18th over. Also, with his sensational century, he became the first-ever uncapped Indian in the history of the Indian Premier League playoffs to smash a century.
