The Eliminator of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) will witness the battle between KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Wednesday, May 25 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Lucknow Super Giants were occupying the top-2 spot on the points table for a significant amount of time throughout IPL 2022. The weather in Kolkata does not look promising and there is a possibility of rain throughout the day on Wednesday. However, the rain probability as of now is predicted at 1% during match hours.

Meanwhile, the official guidelines for the playoffs have been issued by the BCCI in case the game gets washed out due to extreme weather conditions.

The Eliminator between LSG and RCB can begin as late as 9.40 PM without any overs being lost. Also, the number of overs can be reduced so that each side has the opportunity to bat for five overs and the match should begin at 11:56 pm. Also, if a 5-over game can’t be played then the Super Over will decide the winner of the match.

If the first innings is complete and rain plays spoilsport in the second innings the DLS method will come into play.

Meanwhile, if the rain interrupts the game completely and due to extreme weather conditions, not even Super Over can be conducted then the team that finished highest on the league table after the 70 matches shall be declared the winners.
