LSG vs RR: We Have Been Taking Some Good Decisions - Sanju Samson After Win Against Lucknow Super Giants

It was an important game for both the teams involved. A win would have meant LSG would have finished in the top 2 irrespective of the result in their last game. While for Rajasthan Royals this win means they have a foot in the playoffs now.

But despite the result of the game, none of these two teams yet have a ‘Q’ in front of their names in the points table.

We Have A Quality Bowling Line UP: Sanju Samson

Sanju Samson won the toss and chose to bat first. Jos Buttler got out for just 2 runs and his poor run with the bat in the last few games continued as he still continues to lead the Orange cap charts.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Samson added 64 runs for the 2nd wicket but then RR lost wickets in clusters which halted their progress in the end overs. After being 90-2 at the end of 10 overs, they managed just 178 runs in their full 20 overs.

In bowling, once again Trent Boult gave RR a great start as he picked up the wickets of Quinton de Kock and Ayush Badoni in the same over. Prasidh Krishna then removed KL Rahul and LSG were 29-3 at the end of 5.3 overs.

Deepak Hooda and Krunal Pandya then tried to put things back on track but it was too late then as both got out in trying to accelerate post the 10th over mark.

Eventually, LSG lost the game by 24 runs.

Sanju Samson after the game said, “We have been making some good decisions. It is very hard to maintain a chilled out atmosphere. Credit to the boys. You keep on losing here and there. We want to go out there and express ourselves as a batting unit. We have a quality bowling lineup to defend. Last game also, Ashwin did well. Sometimes you make decisions and look bad when you lose. We can control the intensity. Neesham brought some amazing energy onto the field. There is some bonus point for having some quality spinners. We can use them any time.” 

On being asked if knows Tamil too he said, “I know a lot of Tamil. I have friends and I watch a lot of Tamil movies. Each and everyone went out there and showed some intent despite playing a batter short. You can’t really think much in this format, you just go out and express.”

RR would now hope to win their last game as well and qualify for the playoffs.
