Marcus Stoinis Can Win Matches Single-Handedly – Gautam Gambhir On Lucknow's Draft Pick Ahead Of The IPL 2022 Auction

Former Indian opening batsman and the mentor of the new Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Lucknow, Gautam Gambhir, has showered praise on Australia all-rounder Marcus Stoinis, who has been picked by Lucknow ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction.

The two new franchises of the Indian Premier League (IPL) – Ahmedabad and Lucknow – on Friday officially revealed their draft picks ahead of the upcoming mega auction.

Ahmedabad included Hardik Pandya (Rs 15 crore), Rashid Khan (Rs 15 crore), and Shubman Gill (Rs 8 crore) in their team, with Hardik Pandya being appointed as skipper.

Meanwhile, Lucknow picked KL Rahul (Rs 17 crore), Marcus Stoinis (Rs 9.2 crore), and Ravi Bishnoi (Rs 4 crore) in their team, with KL Rahul being named as skipper.

Mentor Gambhir while talking about Stoinis said that the Australian all-rounder is a complete package. He also said that Stoinis’ inclusion in the squad is very good news for the team.

“After Ben Stokes, who is likely to stay away from IPL this season, Stoinis is the complete package. He can bat, bowl, and is one of the best fielders. I think his addition is good news for the team,” said Gautam Gambhir while speaking on Star Sports. 

Gambhir further added that the Aussie all-rounder Stoinis has performed well in the grand stage like World Cup and he can win the matches for the team single-handedly.

“We have seen him perform in the ICC T20 World Cup. He can win matches single-handedly,” he added.
