MI beat the previous joint record of the Delhi Daredevils (Delhi Capitals) and Royal Challengers Bangalore, who both began their seasons with six losses in 2013 and 2019.

This is the 11th occurrence in the IPL that a team has lost seven games in a row, but it is the first time that a squad that has earlier won the title has suffered the humiliation.

Mumbai Indians winless streak continues:

CSK won by three wickets, with MS Dhoni scoring the final 16 runs required off four balls to guarantee MI’s winless record continues. When CSK needed 42 runs off the last three overs, Dhoni and Pretorius struck powerful blows, and while the latter exited, Dhoni had no trouble closing the game in style with a boundary.

Unadkat was the unlucky bowler who let up 16 runs in the penultimate over as MI lost their seventh match of the IPL 2022 season.

Mukesh Choudhary claimed three wickets for 19 runs for CSK, whereas Dwayne Bravo took a couple for the visitor. In the powerplay, Mukesh Choudhary pummeled through the Mumbai Indians’ top order, removing Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan for ducks.

Dewald Brevis was next dismissed for seven runs, lowering Mumbai to 23/3 in the opening three overs. Tilak Varma, a youngster, hit a stunning half-century to save Mumbai from a hazardous situation. Mumbai reached 155/7 in 20 overs thanks to Varma’s valiant 51.

Chennai Super Kings won their second match of the IPL 2022 season, while Mumbai Indians are still winless after seven games.
