Mumbai Indians (MI) bowling all-rounder Daniel Sams dismissed Chennai Super Kings (CSK) opening batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad in the 33rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai, on Thursday, April 21.

Opener Ruturaj Gaikwad started off the 15th edition of the tournament with a duck in the battle against Kolkata Knight Riders and now in Chennai Super Kings’ 7th game in the IPL 2022, he has once again got on 0.

While chasing the target against Mumbai Indians in the high-profile battle, Ruturaj Gaikwad opened the innings with Robin Uthappa. MI all-rounder Daniel Sams opened the attack for his team and he bowled a 139 kph short ball outside off on the first delivery.

Ruturaj Gaikwad slashed the ball but was unable to keep it down and the ball went straight towards Tilak Varma, who was standing at the point and he managed to complete the catch easily.

So far in 7 games, Ruturaj Gaikwad has played only one good knock of 73 runs against Gujarat Titans and in all the other games he has failed miserably.

Mumbai Indians Score 155 Runs While Batting First vs Chennai Super Kings

Losing the toss and batting first, Mumbai Indians (MI) were off to a terrible start as captain Rohit Sharma and wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan got out without scoring a run in the first over, which was bowled by left-arm pacer Mukesh Choudhary.

Also, Dewald Brevis was dismissed by Mukesh in the 3rd over for 4. Suryakumar Yadav batted very well and he scored runs at a strike rate of 152.38 before getting dismissed by Mitchell Santner on the 3rd ball of the 8th over.

In the end, Tilak Varma batted cautiously and scored a fifty and Jaydev Unadkat smashed some good boundaries to help Mumbai Indians reach 155/7.
