MI vs PBKS: Watch - A Horrible Mix Up Leads To Tilak Varma's Dismissal Against Punjab Kings
Tilak Varma, the 19-year old Mumbai Indians batter was in sublime form against Punjab Kings as he raced to 36 runs off 20 balls, but a horrible mix up between him and Suryakumar Yadav in the 13th oversaw his removal from the crease.
Punjab Kings’ posted 198 runs on the board and Mumbai Indians were looking in a strong position to chase the target when Varma and Yadav were batting together.
Mumbai Indians Start Poorly Once Again
The start to the Mumbai Indians chase was poor once again as they lost both Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan within 3 balls of each other.
Dewald Brewis and Tilkak Varma then had a fantastic partnership in the middle which brought the required run rate down from 11 to 9 runs per over.
Brewis targeted Rahul Chahar while Varma took on the pacers. Once Brewis got out, the responsibility to carry the innings was on Varma who was batting beautifully.
Suryakumar Yadav had already hit a six in the over, and MI had taken 11 runs from the over, but in looking for a quick single, Varma ran towards the batting end, only to find that Suryakumar Yadav was not interested in the run at all.
Mayank Agarwal quickly picked up the ball and threw it to the bowler, Arshdeep Singh who did the rest of the job and knocked the stumps over.
Earlier in the day PBKS openers Mayank Agarwal and Shikhar Dhawan both scored their 50s to post a big total on the board. Agarwal scored 52 while Dhawan managed 70 runs. Jitesh Sharma, the wicket-keeper batter from Vidarbha played a handy knock once again down the order as he scored 30 runs off 15 balls.
Mumbai Indians need to win this game badly as they have already lost 4 games on the trot.
