MI vs SRH: Kane Williamson Can Be Kept Out Of The XI; How Long Are You Going To Carry Him? – RP Singh

Former Indian pacer RP Singh has said that the skipper of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Kane Williamson can be dropped from playing XI in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.
Kane Williamson has struggled for runs in the IPL 2022 and his awful strike rate has been the biggest concern for SRH. So far, Williamson has played 12 IPL 2022 games and has scored 208 runs at an average of 18.91 and a strike rate of 92.86.

Speaking to Cricbuzz, RP Singh said that Williamson should accept the fact that he is not able to score runs. He added that Rahul Tripathi should open the innings with Abhishek Sharma instead of Williamson.
He elaborated: “It’s a good thought (to have Williamson as a floater) but another thought is that he can be kept out of the XI too. How long are you going to carry him? He is a professional cricketer as well. Just accept that performances aren’t happening.”
“Although Kane Williamson is a great human being and a good captain, they are messing up with one batting position. You just need to stop being adamant and let Rahul Tripathi open with Abhishek Sharma.”

Former India spinner Pragyan Ojha said that the SRH captain Williamson is versatile enough to bat at any position and SRH should change his batting position. He asserted:
“Kane Williamson is known for his versatility. He was talked about so much due to the fact that he can bat anywhere in the middle. So whatever little chance they have of qualifying, they need to tweak this, or else the result will be same.”
He added that Sunrisers Hyderabad did a huge mistake in the Indian Premier League 2022 by making changes to their bowling line-up just after one off-day. Ojha said:
“They (SRH) changed their whole bowling line-up after just one off-day. When a bowler has an off-day, it’s understandable.
“But when an entire bowling attack has an off-day, they should still be backed because these are the same bowlers who brought you back in the tournament. So this is where I feel the team management went a bit wrong.”
The 65th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 will be played between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Tuesday.
