Then Chennai Super Kings lost wickets at regular intervals and in the end, Ambati Rayudu’s 78 runs knock off 39 balls went in vain as Chennai Super Kings failed to chase the target.

During the post-match presentation ceremony, CSK captain Ravindra Jadeja said that they started off the match very well but leaked some extra runs in the last few overs. He said:

We started off very well, we felt we gave away 10-15 runs extra at the end. We did not execute our plans very well.”

Ravindra Jadeja lauded Ambati Rayudu for his performance and said that the result could have been different if they had restricted Punjab Kings to under 175 runs. He asserted:

“He [Rayudu] was batting brilliantly, throughout but as I said earlier, if we could’ve restricted them to under 175 it would’ve been good.”

The spin-bowling all-rounder was also hoping for a strong comeback from the Chennai Super Kings. He said:

“We are not getting good starts in the first 6 overs, that’s where we are lacking and hopefully we will come back stronger.”
