The 42nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) was played between Mayank Agarwal-led Punjab Kings (PBKS) and KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Friday, April 29.
KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants won the match by 20 runs against Mayank Agarwal-led Punjab Kings to win their 6th match of the Indian Premier League 2022.
Earlier, Punjab Kings (PBKS) won the toss and opted to field first and they made no changes in the playing XI. On the other hand, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) made one change in the playing XI as pacer Avesh Khan replaced batter, Manish Pandey, in the team.
Arshdeep Singh opened the attack for Punjab Kings against Lucknow Super Giants opening duo of KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock and the pacer conceded 5 runs in the over. In the second over of the match pacer, Sandeep Sharma gave away just 2 runs.
Kagiso Rabada came to bowl the third over of the match and on the 5th ball, he dismissed KL Rahul, who scored 6 runs off 11 balls, and ended up conceding 6 runs in the over. In the next 3 overs, LSG batters scored 3, 16 and 7 runs and at the end of the powerplay, they were at 39/1.

Then Lucknow Super Giants faced a massive batting collapse as they went from 98/2 to 144/8. Also, pacer Kagiso Rabada completed his 4-wicket haul.

Mayank Agarwal scored 25 runs off 17 balls, including 2 fours and 2 sixes. At the end of the powerplay, Punjab Kings were at 46/1.
Ravi Bishnoi castled veteran opener Shikhar Dhawan on the 3rd ball of the 7th over to end PBKS opener’s 5 runs innings off 15 balls. On the last ball of the 8th over Krunal Pandya cleaned up in-form Bhanuka Rajapaksa for 9.

8 points from 9 matches with that squad. Has to be a bitter pill to swallow for Punjab. Somehow, just somehow always manage to slip up.. Well done LSG.. Just kept fighting .. #PBKSvsLSG

Ravindra Jadeja 🤝 Rishi Dhawan.
Doing tuk tuk when you can still win the game and hitting boundaries when it does'nt matter anymore. 👍

KL almost had the same team in Punjab.. he was the captain.. but we weren’t winning any games…
The problem isnt the team. Our team is very strong individually, the problem is definitely in the MANAGEMENT.

Controversial take but, our (RR) playoff scenario is still not comfortable due to the major clogging of the teams in the top 5. We 'cannot' afford to go on a losing spree now, next two games are in the span of 48 hours gap and it will potentially decide where we finish. #IPL2022 https://t.co/GoRqM85Gey

Unfortunately, Priety Ji's team wasn't "Good Enough" today. 😢💔
Her smile radiates positive vibes in the whole stadium. It feels sad to see the condition of her team right now. A total mess.

LSG and RR have shown that they are good defenders. All the four teams RR,GT,LSG and SRH have played outstanding Cricket.
Won't be easy to pick a winner as all the teams will fight it out
