Punjab Kings (PBKS) right-arm pacer Sandeep Sharma dismissed Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock in the 42nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Friday, April 29.
LSG wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock batted really well after losing his opening partner KL Rahul early on in the innings. De Kock scored 46 runs off 37 balls, including 4 fours and 2 sixes, before being dismissed by Sandeep Sharma on the 4th ball of the 13th over.

Sandeep delivered a slower length ball outside off that had some extra bounce and the LSG batter Quinton de Kock tried to cut it off the back foot behind point but he was only able to edge the ball, the ball went straight to the wicket-keeper Jitesh Sharma and he grabbed the catch easily and the Punjab Kings players went for the appeal.
There was a clear deflection but the on-field umpire Ulhas Gandhe turned down the appeal. However, De Kock showed good sportsmanship and himself walked back to the dugout. The pacer also patted him for his gesture.

Earlier, Arshdeep Singh opened the attack for Punjab Kings against Lucknow Super Giants opening duo of KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock and the pacer conceded 5 runs in the over. In the second over of the match pacer, Sandeep Sharma gave away just 2 runs.
Kagiso Rabada came to bowl the third over of the match and on the 5th ball, he dismissed Rahul, who scored 6 runs off 11 balls, and ended up conceding 6 runs in the over. In the next 3 overs, LSG batters scored 3, 16 and 7 runs and at the end of the powerplay, they were at 39/1.
After that, De Kock and Deepak Hooda had an amazing 85 runs partnership off 59 balls that helped Lucknow Super Giants. However, after the opener’s wicket LSG lost quick wickets of Deepak Hooda, Krunal Pandya and Ayush Badoni. At the time of writing LSG are at 109/5.
