Rahul Tewatia Bought By Gujarat Titans For INR 9 crores In The IPL 2022 Mega Auction

Uncapped Indian all-rounder Rahul Tewatia was bought by one of the two new franchises, Gujarat Titans for a stupendous amount of INR 9 crores in the IPL 2022 mega auction.
Tewatia played for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the previous season where he impressed with both bat and ball. The most memorable knock came against Punjab Kings in the first phase of IPL 2021 where he smashed West Indies pacer, Sheldon Cottrell for five sixes in an over.

He set his base price at INR 40 lakhs but once the bidding war started between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans, there was no stopping it. Both teams were intent on having Tewatia as he provides finishing abilities along with leg-spin in the middle-overs.
The price went past INR 5 crores in a jiffy and it kept moving until CSK began hesitation. They stayed till the price hit INR 9 crore where they finally pulled the plug. The Titans’ camp was quite happy with the buy.

Tewatia fits in well since the Titans were lacking an all-rounder amidst their ranks. He can also double up as a spinner on the Ahmedabad pitches where there is a lot of spin on offer in general.
