IPL 2022: RCB Looking To Shell Out Big Bucks For West Indian All-Rounder Jason Holder - Reports

With the IPL 2022 mega auction less than a week away, franchisees are listing up potential options to buy for their team. In one such case, reports have emerged that state that Jason Holder is being sought by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and they are willing to dole out big bucks.
Holder has been a perennially underrated cricketer, be it in the IPL or for the national team. The big Windies player is more than capable with the bat and is a tremendous slower ball expert in the death overs, very similar to Dwayne Bravo.
As per reports, Holder is on RCB management’s radar and they have set aside a whopping sum of INR 12 crore for the 30-year-old.

“Ben Stokes isn’t available, H<!---->a<!---->r<!---->d<!---->i<!---->k<!----> <!---->P<!---->a<!---->n<!---->d<!---->y<!---->a and Marcus Stoinis are taken. Mitchell Marsh, you never know whether he can survive a full IPL with his injury-prone career, Holder has been phenomenal if one looks at his record. RCB will like to go the distance as some others will also pitch in. For Holder, they have reserved Rs 12 crore,” a source close to the franchise told PTI on conditions of anonymity.
“We have to put a bigger prize on our wicket” – Jason Holder
Speaking about the first ODI against India, Holder mentioned that the top-order needs to value their wicket and try and grind it out even if the pitches are a bit tough to bat on. Holder was the top-scorer in a poor batting display from the Windies on Sunday but his knock wasn’t enough to salvage the match.
“We just got to put a bigger prize on our wicket, too many soft dismissals in the innings today (on Sunday). The pitch was a little difficult to start off but more or less we still got to dig a little bit deeper, put (up) a much better fight.”

“I don’t think we are too far off to be fair. Our top-order just needs to go a little deeper, put a heavier prize on their wicket, and just get themselves a really good chance,” Holder told the press after the first ODI.
If he continues his form in the white-ball series, Holder is sure to bag a huge contract in the IPL 2022 mega auction.
