Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) slowly wriggled their way back into the contest against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) after Glenn Maxwell picked up his second wicket of the night by castling Ambati Rayudu.
Batting first, RCB managed to put up 173 on the board. There were crucial contributions from Faf du Plessis and Mahipal Lomror before another good knock from Dinesh Karthik helped RCB finish strong.
In the run chase, CSK openers put on a 50-run stand before Ruturaj Gaikwad fell. Robin Uthappa couldn’t do much as well and Rayudu followed suit, both being dismissed by the part-time off-spin of Maxwell.
Rayudu looked to make space and play his trademark inside-out shot but Maxwell’s delivery went straight, moving past the bat and crashing into the off-stump. He fell after making 10 runs off 8 balls.
