Rovman Powell Bought By Delhi Capitals (DC) For INR 2.8 Crore In IPL 2022 Mega Auction

West Indies power-hitter Rovman Powell was bought by Delhi Capitals (DC) franchise for INR 2.8 crore at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction on day 2 of the two-day event in Bengaluru.
Rovman Powell is a middle-order batsman who bowls occasional medium pace. He recently smashed a sensational T20I century against England National Cricket Team in Bridgetown.

The West Indies and Jamaica Tallawahs player had set his base price for the Indian Premier League mega auction at INR 75 lakh.
Lucknow Super Giants made the opening bid for the West Indies batsman and Delhi Capitals soon entered the bidding war. Chennai Super Kings also joined the battle to purchase Rovman and it became a three-way battle.

At one point Chennai Super Kings were in lead with the INR 1.5 crore bid but Delhi Capitals didn’t stop and they kept fighting for Rovman Powell. In the end, he was sold to Delhi for INR 2.8 crore.
Overall, the West Indies batsman has played 36 T20 Internationals and has scored 524 runs at an average of 22.8 and strike rate of 133.3.

Rovman Powell will join the likes of Mitchell Marsh, Mustafizur Rahman, David Warner and Anrich Nortje in the Delhi Capitals squad for the upcoming season of the T20 league.
