RR vs DC: Delhi Capitals’ Predicted Playing XI Against Rajasthan Royals.

Delhi Capitals take on Rajasthan Royals in a crucial must-win match in a bid to keep their playoff hopes alive. The side is placed fifth on the points table with 10 points to its name. They lost their previous match against CSK by 91 runs which hampered their net run rate by a big margin.

Delhi Capitals need to win their next three games if they are to keep their playoff chances alive. Prithvi Shaw is likely to miss this game as was informed by assistant coach Shane Watson after their game against Chennai. His absence opens up opportunities for a few other players to prove their worth at the top of the order.

In this article, we try and predict Delhi Capitals’ playing XI against Rajasthan Royals for this crucial game. The side would hope for a much-improved performance in the next game.

David Warner

Warner scored a brilliant 92 against SRH. Against CSK, in the big run-chase, he scored just 19. However, he will continue to open the batting given that he is a big hope for the side in the last few games. The southpaw has scored 375 runs in 9 matches so far for Delhi Capitals.

Bharat hot an opportunity to open alongside Warner against CSK. He scored just 8. It will be interesting to see if Delhi Capitals gives him another go or brings in Mandeep Singh in his place at the top of the order.

Mitchell Marsh

Marsh has been given a continuous run in the last games and he has done relatively well. Against CSK in the big run-chase, he scored 25 off 20 balls before getting dismissed. He will be given a longer rope by the management at the number three position.

Rishabh Pant

The DelhiCapitals skipper will bat at his usual number four position. He scored 21 off 11 balls before being dismissed. Pant has been below par both with his batting and captaincy in this year’s IPL. He needs to give his best in the remaining games for his side to get through to the playoffs.

Lalit Yadav

Lalit Yadav should come back in the Delhi Capitals playing XI instead of Ripal Patel in this game. He is a better batsman and also gives an option with the ball. Yadav has been a handy cricketer for Delhi this season and should be included in the playing XI.

Rovman Powell

Powell did not get too many against CSK. This was one game where he needed to step up for his side but he could not. However, the management would back his ability to finish games that he has shown in the season previously.

Axar Patel

In a match where CSK scored over 200, Axar went for 23 off his three overs. He could not contribute much with the bat. He was one of the retained players for Delhi Capitals and with the season nearing its end, he needs to step up for his side.

Shardul Thakur

Thakur batting at number eight adds a bit more depth to the Delhi batting line-up. He scored 24 off 19 balls against his former club. He has to step up in the remaining games for Delhi.

Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav was expensive against CSK. This was his most expensive spell in this IPL season. He went wicketless as well in the game. Overall, he has taken 18 wickets this year and is fourth on the Purple Cap list as of now.

Nortje has returned fully fit for Delhi Capitals. He bowled with pace against CSK and took 3 for 42 in the game. Delhi needs him to be at his best in the remaining games.

Khaleel Ahmed

The left-arm pacer concludes Delhi’s probable playing XI against Rajasthan Royals. He took 2 for 28 against CSK and has bagged 16 wickets so far in the season.
