Sanjay Manjrekar weighed in on Yashasvi Jaiswal’s recovery, advising the Royals to give the youngster a long rope.
When the Punjab Kings were chasing 190, Jaiswal came in for Karun Nair and produced important 68-run innings. The 20-year-41-ball old’s innings helped the Royals chase down the huge target with six wickets in hand. In his previous three innings, Jaiswal had scored 20, 1, and 4 runs.

Sanjay Manjrekar, one of the retained players, feels the Royals should keep Jaiswal. However, after Devdutt Padikkal’s demotion, the 56-year-old is concerned for his safety. ESPNCricinfo quoted Manjrekar as saying,
“Yes, I believe so, because he was one of the individuals they kept and has re-established himself. However, I am concerned about Padikkal’s development as a young player farther down the line.”

Ian Bishop shared his thoughts on who should replace Shimron Hetmyer in the Royals’ lineup, believing Jimmy Neesham is deserving of a position. Bishop explained:
“I believe you require a finisher. So Daryl Mitchell has been put to the test and appears to be out of his depth. Only one chance has been given to Jimmy Neesham. I’d vote for Neesham.”
‘Anrich Nortje could be the weak link in the Capitals’: Sanjay Manjrekar
If Anrich Nortje’s form doesn’t improve, Sanjay Manjrekar believes he will be the weak link in the Capitals’ abroad contingent. He explained:

“If Anrich Nortje’s form does not return, they may wish to reconsider. Except a couple of spells, I thought Mustafizur performed admirably for them.”
The Capitals are in a vulnerable position after losing six of their last eleven games and must win their remaining games to remain in competition for a playoff spot. Rajasthan won their previous match by 15 runs, thanks to a century from Jos Buttler.
