Rajasthan Royals (RR) spinner Ravichandran Ashwin put his team in the driver’s seat when he dismissed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder, Andre Russell, with a lovely delivery.
Chasing 218, KKR was motoring along quite well on the back of twin fifties from Aaron Finch and Shreyas Iyer. The former looked dangerous before being dismissed by Prasidh Krishna for 58 off 28 balls.
Nitish Rana played a quickfire cameo before Yuzvendra Chahal had his number. However, the biggest wicket of the night went to Ashwin, who sent back Russell for a golden duck to sink KKR.
Coming from a wide angle, Ashwin got one to straighten and Russell ended up playing for the turn. The ball whizzed past Russell’s blade and crashed into the off-stump, sending the 35-year-old Ashwin on a celebratory run.
