Umran Mailk’s pacer has been one of the talking points in this IPL so far. The Jammu & Kashmir pacer was one of the three retained players ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction. Against Gujarat Titans, Malik constantly clocked speeds of over 150 with the highest being 153.
Umran Malik’s sheer pacer caught the eye of former England skipper Michael Vaughan who wants the BCCI to send the young pacer to England to play county cricket. Taking to Twitter, he also wrote that Malik has the potential to play for India as well.

“Umran Malik will play for India very soon … If I was the BCCI I would be sending him to play some County cricket this summer to help him develop first though,” Vaughan tweeted on Monday.
Malik’s pace caught Gujarat skipper Hardik Pandya out of place as he was hit on the helmet. In reply, Pandya hit him for a few boundaries before Matthew Wade was dismissed in the same over.

Cricket experts are of the view that Malik needs to work on his line and length and not just bowl fast. SRH gave away 22 extras in the game bowling 20 wide balls and a few of them were bowled by Umran himself.
Vaughan himself had pointed out the concerns with the SRH bowling attack. The former England skipper said that the absence of Rashid Khan is going to make SRH pay in IPL 2022.
” I don’t see a real quality spinner. When the wicket starts to wear, that is where they are going to struggle. They are going to miss Rashid Khan, that is a huge hole to fill. I don’t see them being anywhere near this year. Hope they prove me wrong but I don’t think they have got enough compared to the other sides,” said Vaughan.
To make matters worse for SRH, Washington Sundar is also ruled out of the next couple of matches for SRH after splitting the webbing of his bowling finger against GT.
