Chennai Super Kings lost their previous game against Punjab Kings. They have struggled to get going throughout the season with their openers not getting runs consistently. Death over bowling has been another major problem with the side with Chris Jordan not performing his best.

Santner has been given the number three slot with Moeen Ali missing games due to his injury. The England all-rounder will take a week’s time to recover as per CSK head coach Stephen Fleming. This also means that Santner will get another go against SRH.

Rayudu scored a brilliant 78 off 39 balls and almost took CSK to victory. He has scored 246 runs so far in the season and the management will back him to score a few more in the remaining season.

Dube is inching closer to 250 runs for the season and will slot in at number five for Chennai Super Kings. He has slowed down a bit since his 95 runs against RCB. He is a key figure in the middle order along with MS Dhoni.

Dhoni should bat at number six in the order. He has already won a game chasing for Chennai Super Kings and in the remaining six games he might need to do that a few more often.

Jadeja will slot in at number and will share the responsibility of finishing the game in the final overs alongside Dhoni. He has not been amongst the runs and wickets, unlike the other seasons. Captaincy has affected his performance for sure.

Bravos is in the Purple Cap race with 14 wickets so far in 8 games. He has been Jadeja’s trusted ally in the death overs and will continue to be so. Bravo went past Lasith Malinga to become the highest wicket-taker in the IPL. He has taken 181 wickets in the IPL till date.

Choudhary has come back well after being all over the place in the first few games. Against Punjab Kings, though he bowled a wicketless spell, he kept things tight from one end. The left-arm pacer will need to look for wickets for Chennai Super Kings against SRH.
