Sunrisers Hyderabad faces off against Chennai Super Kings in match 46 of IPL 2022 in Pune on May 1. The remaining six games are must-wins for both sides if they want to make it to the playoffs. SRH beat CSK earlier in the season and have the advantage in the reverse fixture as well.
Sunrisers Hyderabad lost to Gujarat Titans in their previous game. The loss came after five consecutive wins in IPL 2022. The management would not be too flustered about the loss and get together to come back to winning ways.
Heading into their game against CSK, SRH would not make wholesale changes. However, there might be tactical changes depending upon the strengths and weaknesses of the opposition. In this article, we take a look at Sunrisers Hyderabad’s predicted playing XI against CSK.
Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Chennai Super Kings: Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Predicted Playing XI Against Chennai Super Kings, IPL 2022, Match 46 SRH vs CSK
Abhishek Sharma
The southpaw has played a few innings of substance for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Against Gujarat Titans, he scored a brilliant 65 in a losing cause for the side. He will continue to open the batting. So far he has scored 285 runs from 8 games.

Kane Williamson
Williamson has been terrific as captain for Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, he has not scored consistently at the top of the order for his side. Against GT, he scored just 5 before being castled by Mohammed Shami.
Rahul Tripathi
Rahul Tripathi had a rare failure against Gujarat Titans in the last game. He scored 16 off 10 balls. The right-hander has scored 228 runs for SRH so far in the first 8 matches.
Aiden Markram
Markram scored yet another fifty fore SRH against Gujarat Titans. This was his third of the season for his side. He is inching closer to 250 runs for the season.
Nicholas Pooran
Pooran will slot in at number five for SRH. Against Gujarat Titans, he has a bad outing as he scored just three. He has played a few crucial innings so far for his side. So far in IPL 2022, he has scored 116 runs in the first eight games with a best of 35*.
Shashank Singh
Batting for the first time for SRH, Shashank Singh scored 25 off six balls as he took SRH to 195 against GT. Though Hyderabad lost the match, they discovered another bright young Indian talent. He will be given a few more matches one feels.
Washington Sundar
The SRH all-rounder will slot in at seven in the line-up. He made a return after missing a few games due to his finger injury. He scored just three with the bat and went wicketless with the ball. He is the only spinner in their playing XI and thus will get a longer rope.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar
One of the linchpins of the SRH bowling lineup Bhuvi has taken nine wickets so far in IPL 2022 and has been a perfect foil to the likes of Natarajan and Umran Malik. He went wicketless against Gujarat Titans.
T Natarajan
Natarajan with 15 wickets is fourth on the list of Purple Cap. However, he bowled an expensive spell against Gujarat Titans going for 43 off his four overs. He and Marco Jansen together went for 106 runs of their 8 overs.
Umran Malik
Malik registered his best figures in the IPL as he took 5/25 against Gujarat Titans. He is third on the Purple cap list with 15 wickets so far in IPL 2022. Malik’s rise has been the story so far this season.
Marco Jansen / Sean Abbott
Jansen had two different outings in back-to-back games for Sunrisers Hyderabad. He bowled a brilliant spell against RCN and was taken to the cleaners in the next game against Gujarat Titans. They would probably give him a rest for a couple of games and bring in someone like a Sean Abbott for a few games.
